Ready for the Start of the Season on May 11 and 12

The 2026 High Street Golf League season gets underway this Monday, May 11.  Check the "Flights for First Half" and "Handicaps for Week 1" links in the right-hand column of this page to see what your starting handicap and flight will be.  All players will be placed in a flight for the first half of the season with players of comparable handicaps.  We will adjust handicaps each week based on the previous week's score, but you will stay in the same flight for the entire first half of the season.

We will start the season on the Back Nine at Tam O'Shanter for the first week of league play.  The weather forecast looks at least decent for Monday and Tuesday, so hopefully we'll have a good turnout of players for the season's first week.  Good luck to one and all, and let's get off to a great start this year!

Second Practice Round Scheduled for May 4/5

We're ready for our second practice round this week at Tam O'Shanter.  We will play the Front nine for this week's practice round.  Please turn in your scorecard so we can calculate handicaps for the start of the season.  If you know of anyone who's thinking of joining the league this year, please encourage them to play practice rounds so they will have a handicap for the first weeks of league play.

We're continuing the season-long optional competition in the league this year called the Hole-of-the-Week Club.  If you want to play, it's only $18 for the whole season (that's just $1 a week).  Each week, one of the holes in your nine will be designated as the Hole of the Week, and we'll record your net score on that hole (after handicap strokes are deducted) in the book.  At the end of the season, the players with the lowest total for the Holes of the Week will split the pot!  How many places we pay out will be based on how many people participate.  Here are the holes of the week for each week:

May 11/12:   Hole # 10 June 22/23:   Hole # 13 Aug 3/4:   Hole # 16
May 18/19:   Hole # 1 June 29/30:   Hole # 4 Aug 10/11:   Hole # 7
May 25/26:   Hole # 11 July 6/7:   Hole # 14 Aug 17/18:   Hole # 17
June 1/2:   Hole # 2 July 13/14:   Hole # 5 Aug 24/25:   Hole # 8
June 8/9:   Hole # 12 July 20/21:   Hole # 15 Aug 31/Sept 1:   Hole # 18
June 15/16:   Hole # 3 Jul 27/28:   Hole # 6 Sept 7/8:   Hole # 9

Since we're using net scores, everyone has a good chance to win this, especially higher handicap players.  Why not give it a shot this year and join the fun?!?

If you've paid your league dues already, thank you! Don't forget that league dues must be paid by May 25.

First Practice Round is this coming week (April 27 & 28)

We will have two practice rounds for the golf league before actual competition starts this year.  This gives everyone a chance to turn in some scores to establish a start-of-season handicap, and to get back into the swing of things.  If you play practice rounds, your handicap for the start of the season will be determined half from your handicap at the end of last year + 2, and half from the practice rounds you play.  Our first practice round is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday of this coming week, April 27 and 28.  We will be on the Back Nine for the first practice round.  Make plans to play, turn in your scorecard, and reconnect with your friends in the golf league (or if you can't play on Monday or Tuesday, turn in a golf-out score if you play later in the week).

If you are new to the league this year, please plan to play and establish some scores for your handicap at the start of the year.  If you can't play on Mondays or Tuesdays the next two weeks, you can turn in scores as golf-outs.  See you at the course!

For 2026, We Have a New Title Sponsor and New League Name!

We are very happy to be able to announce that our golf league is being sponsored this year by High Street Pub & Grill in Sharpsville, PA!  Click here to visit High Street's Facebook page to check out their upcoming events, menu and specials.  Since High Street will be our title sponsor, our new league name will be "High Street Golf League", so that's our official name going forward.  Thanks to our new sponsor, we'll have plenty of great prizes for our weekly fun games this year, and High Street Pub & Grill will be our official league go-to location for after-golf food, drinks and fun!

To thank High Street for becoming our league sponsor, we're encouraging all league members to stop in there after your round of golf each week for drinks and good food, and to brag about your round or get some consolation/teasing from your fellow league members if things didn't go so well that day!  Make it a regular habit to drop in at High Street — your new after-golf spot!

Time to start thinking about the 2026 Golf League Season!

Now that we are halfway through the month of April and the weather will (hopefully) start to get better, we can prepare for playing in our golf league for the year.  We're planning lots of fun in the league this season.

Here's some information about the start of the 2026 season:  we'll have two practice round weeks starting with the first practice round on April 27 & 28; the second practice round will be on May 4 & 5.  New members must play two 9-hole practice rounds before Friday May 8 to establish a handicap for use in Week 1 of league play.  The first week of league play for the season will take place on May 11 and 12.  Remember that you can play your league round and participate in all games including the Skins Games and the Special Event of the Week if you play on either Monday or Tuesday each week.

If you know of anyone who would would have fun by playing in our league, please share our e-mail address and web site with them.  We're looking for new members, so your help is appreciated. See you soon at the course!
